Homemade salsa

I made homemade salsa for the first time last week
...
It turned out better than I'd anticipated
I'd never tried chipotle peppers before, they're smoky sweet, not spicy

 I used diced tomatoes,
chipotle peppers,
fresh garlic,
and spices...
 Yummmmm :)

Ramen Stir-Fry

Steve has been asking me to teach him how to cook for a long time now.  Wednesday evening I showed him how to make Ramen Stir-Fry.
It. Was. Amazing.

Observe:
Prepare 2 packages of Ramen noodles according to directions. Leave out the seasoning.
Meanwhile, grate 2 carrots into saute pan.
Add 1/2 onion, chopped, to carrots.
 Drain noodles.
Saute vegetables in 1-2 T vegetable oil.
 Snarl at photographer.
Add 1 cup ground beef, browned.
 Add noodles.
Add 2 T soy sauce...NO, NOT LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!
Set the table, pouring all the drinks at once :)
 Serve...
...and enjoy!
And like we always say, "Well, that was easy!"

Bus stuffs...

It's that time of the year again!!
Every October the buses at Trinity Baptist Church have a Fall Promotion to get more kids to church.  This year a contest between both buses is helping heat things up.  The prize for ten kids from each bus with the most points is a trip to the National Museum of Naval Aviation at the Naval Air Station.

Jimmy Jackson's posters describing each week's contest.

Another bus activity...bus cookies.
I'm on a rotation with 5-6 other ladies to make cookies for our bus, Bus 2.
This week I made 180 sugar cookies.
 Mmmmmm
They were sooooo soft and yummy!  I found a recipe called "Nigel's Sugar Cookies", unfortunately, I can't find the blog that it was on!

Each bus has a folder of song sheets for the kids to sing.
Bus 2 only had 10-15 songs, and they were ALL in pretty bad repair.  I spent a few days designing new sheets and finding more songs for our kids.
 One of the originals.
Some were just black Sharpie on white paper.
 I got together some material...
 ...and started!!
The Crayon Box Song is the kids' favorte so far!
Verses 2, 3 of Crayon song.

This bus promotion, plus Steve's Christmas Lights work schedule has us pretty sweepy :)
Fun, Fun.
See ya!
