Sara's birthday

Tuesday was Sara's birthday. James asked me to make her a birthday cake so I made a tres leche cake.

 Frosted with Cool Whip and strawberries.

 We watched Lily that night when they went out for dinner.

 She is a lot of fun.

Chick feeder

I made a chicken feeder off Pinterest last week, and it turned out so nice that I'm making one for my mother-in-laws chickens now :)

Family update

We've been doing a lot of painting and repair around the house recently.

I painted the office and now it is our guest room.

I love blue!

 Steve put a large A/C return vent in the hallway so now the house is freezing all the time!

That's good for FL :)

Remember Steve's blue and tan room at the end of the hall?

Well, we decided to repaint it too, since we had another guest room available.

I painted it tan, then added a brown chair rail.

 Under the chair rail I wanted it to look like striped wallpaper.

It took a long time...

...but looks so neat, that I'm glad I did.

Cute, it could almost pass as a baby's room!

 

Oh, right. And here's why we need a nursery :)

Steve and I are expecting a baby around the first of March 2013.

 They actually look like chickens now :)
