A surprise baby shower

Monday, Nessa and I worked with one of the ladies from church to throw a surprise baby shower for Sara Bryan.  Nessa and I spent several days before that working on different aspects of the party.  Remind me never to sign up for anything again :)
No, it was a fun shower and I've never gotten so many ladies to play "Pin the Tail on the Donkey" before :)  Or in our case, pin the bow on the carousel horse.
It was an ice cream sundea party.
It was carousel-themed.
Elizabeth Price made this "Strawberry-Chocolate-Raspberry" carousel cake.
I made Ma Carpenter's punch recipe and it was amazing :) 3 ladies brought the ingredients, and I just combined them with the chilled base at the party.
Buffet-style.
Yum yum! Everyone enjoyed themselves.

Fall Decor and Fresh Eggs!

Mom texted me the other day and said, "Do you have your fall decorations up yet? :)"
Of course I didn't tell her that I didn't have any!  Today I went searching for items here at home that I could remake or repurpose for autumn decor.  I was surprised to find that my secret pal at church had given me these pilgrim figures last year...forgotten...and also she gave me a small box of foliage and pumpkins too!
 In the living room...
I used some of the foliage from my pal to decorate this grapevine wreath that Lucas had made this summer for me...aren't brothers awesome?!!
I didn't know what to do for a table centerpiece, then I found these rootbeer bottles I'd saved (for vases??) and did a candle theme...
I plan on changing this some more...maybe.
 Yay!! A first egg!
Yummy :)

Pictures on Dad Bryan's birthday

On Dad Bryan's birthday we met him and Mom at our house before going to La Hacienda.
We didn't tell him that EVERYONE would be waiting at the restaurant, too.  All the Bryans, Sanders, Smothers, Roses, and Pastor and Mrs. Woody would be there.
We stalled for time at our house by taking some group pictures on our front porch.

Getting the guys to smile simultaneously was actually very hard!

We all got him a Kindle.

Nessa made two yummy cakes.
Steve said he's practicing in case our baby is twins, lol :)

August 26th, Labor Day Saturday

Steve always has to work on Labor Day, so we had our fun the weekend before.
Here's a usual trip to Bear Lake.
We went swimming at Krul Lake (no alligators there), then used the camera timer to get a pic.
We went hiking for a few miles afterward, but it was getting dark, so no camera on the trail :)
Candid shot by Steve...I love to build fires, have I mentioned that?
We roasted hotdogs while waiting for the potatoes to bake.
Lastly, we went out on the earthen dam and watched the stars. We had a full moon and the double reflection on the lake was beautiful!

The 4 prenant girls

The four of us were all pregnant for about 3 months, but we only discovered that two days before Dani (center, left) had baby Micah!! We squeezed in one picture tho.

Yummy food!

I made an apple pie and we took it over to John and Nessa's as a surprise one night.
I love baking!
 Grandma's recipe...

I found this recipe on Pinterest and it turns out perfectly every time!!
I could eat French Bread every day if it was healthier :)

Camping: August 16-18, 2012

The weekend we decided to go camping, we packed a large tarp as an extra. We sure needed it too! We stretched it over our entire campsite, and it rained every day, at least a little.
We were the only tent campers this time.

Sitting on the dock, I was able to get a fuzzy picture of this 8 ft alligator swimming in front of us.
 Very fuzzy...
I love fires!!! The best part of camping is cooking over a fire :)
