When was the last time I did any kind of work on a car?

It had to have been August 2010...I watched Steve and Dad Bryan fix Steve's car in Florida...and missed a sunset on the beach over it...ahhhh memories :) :) :)

So, at Ambassador about a month ago, my adopted brother, Ryan, pointed out that I'd lost a hubcap.

My amazing Dad got me replacements Saturday, and tonight I helped him put them on.

See how ugly tires are! No wonder they make caps to go over that :)

You know how I'm making almost all the ceremony and reception decor myself?  Well, here's the reception table centerpieces.

They are just $1.34 apiece to make. Wow.

 

A bowl from Dollar Tree ($1), some candles (29c), and River Pebbles from Lowes (5c)

And the other 4 were scattered around the bowl with the pebbles

Awwwwww :)

(Yes, I have a trash bag on the kitchen table...you never know what antics some rocks and a bowl of water might pull)

Writer's Cramp.....

Finally!!! After who-knows-how-many hours, all 250ish wedding invitations are self-addressed!

Mimi, Dad's mother, is having a special rubber stamp made for the front of the envelopes. 

The tree featured on the invitation front will also be stamped on the envelope front, as well as on the Thank-You card envelopes.  Don't you just love matching :)  But that means I can't address the front yet, not until I get them stamped that is.

Greek Games!

Speaking of lifesavers...as soon as the last game was started the Tornado siren went off. We had to stay in the gym til 5, when it was safe to go home.

When I was home it started hailing.  Look how big the hail was!  Ping pong balls :)

Field Trip!

Every year, Brother Spencer takes as many students as he can to tour the Waldensian Trail of Faith in Valdese, NC.   The group this year was about 34 people.  We took three vans, and myself and another girl drove our cars. The Trail was quite an experience.  Just seeing what our Baptist forefathers went through was incredible!!

Barbi College.  The three little juniper trees were actually a sign that the Waldensians left for other believers to know where they'd been.

A stone in the chimney could be removed and a Bible was hidden behind it! 

Later, they hid and met in caves just like this one. 

You had to crawl in on your hands and knees 

We met in this cave at the end of the tour and sang, Amazing Grace.  The acoustics are amazing! 

A monument to the Waldensians 

It reads, "Here -- where four centuries ago the ancient Waldensian Church assembled at the Synod of Chanforan, consecrated their own solidarity with the churches of the Reformation, and offered them as a regal gift the Bible translated of Olivetan -- the Christian unions of Piedmont, in solemn memory of this act, raise and dedicate this Monument.     September 15, 1532     September 12, 1932
