When's the last time you stayed up all night to see someone you love walk in the door at 1:30 am?? Last Friday? Hey! Me too!!!
So, Steve got 11 hours of sleep between last Wednesday, and Monday morning....that's dedication....or something :)
Anyway, he got to NC safely.
We were really happy to see each other, a month and a half is a long time!
Awwww :) He brought a Willow Tree figurine for me :)
~Promise~
Liz is NOT drunk! Uh, maybe just a little :) But she was willing to stay up with us til 3:30 and drive us to the Joyners. There we switched to their car, and drove to the airport.
Rebecca was John and Nessa's photographer for the wedding and our chaperone for the trip
Waiting at the airport
Now we're tired of waiting :(
In Portland, Maine!! Yay! Now just 4 hours driving to Sedgwick :)
We found the cemetery of Rebecca's Civil War hero, Joshua L Chamberlain, near Brunswick. There was snow and it wasn't even cold!!
The McFarland house
It is 150 years old, and very comfortable :)
Thru the dining room to the stairs
Up the stairs to the room I shared with Steve's sister, Becky
Comfy
Just a few minutes after we drove up, everyone met at the McFarland's for the rehearsal dinner, then we went to the church and practiced marrying John and Nessa off for a few hours...
Get a good night's sleep everyone!!!
All ready for the big day!
It was very windy
The church, where Nessa's dad is the pastor
Mom
Dad (proud grandpa with 8-month Ethan)
I got to have Ethan for most of the ceremony...hence a few fuzzy pictures
Here she comes! Yes, she was beautiful, yes, John had the greatest smile, no, I didn't capture it :)
Left to right
Nessa had her sisters (Charity, Rachel, Beka, and Pam) as bridesmaids, John's brothers (James, Nate, and Steve) and her brother (Matt) as groomsmen, and her cousins (Sissy and Micah) as flower girl and ring bearer.
Matt sang "Yours Forever" with Steve accompanying him during the Unity Candle ceremony
Pastor Woody: AMEN!! :)
Mr. and Mrs. John Charles Bryan
I had fun with these two
Over to the reception! Nessa's theme was Sea...
K. Every five seconds someone would come up that knew Steve, and they'd inevitably say, "Well, you two are next! Excited?"
Ha. Like we had to be reminded
A lady in the church made the cake
A Willow Tree topper :) That's the same Promise figurine like Steve gave me
They were sweet and didn't make a mess
Then they were stuck like this the rest of the time we saw them
While John and Nessa were busy Steve and I helped decorate the car
Blockading the wheels was Steve's idea, seconded by Pastor Woody
...a beautiful wedding, a fun trip, a great travel partner, and three tests this week at school...
Seriously, when's our turn?
Jk, 116 days! :)
