Master Bathroom

Our master bathroom project is finally finished!
Nate came over Tuesday night and put in the baseboards, after I paint them it will be complete :)

We only had two closets in the whole house, so Nate put a linen closet in.

I painted the ceiling blue! Eventually, I want to sponge white over to look like clouds.

For Mom

My mother made me a beautiful bed quilt for Christmas.  She asked for a picture of it on the bed, and here it is!  The blues and browns are my room colors.

The detail on her quilts is always so perfect.

Family and Birdhouses

A few days ago Steve and I were at Mom and Dad Bryan's.  Our nieces, Alyssa and Kylie, wanted us to come back in the woods and see their 'fort' that they had.  I did, and got this pic.
Adorable!

Steve also got me a birdfeeder.  I put it up in the backyard and already I'm cleaned out of birdseed!
There have been so many finches and doves around it!

Steve's Game

For quite a while, Steve had a box on the closet shelf with (what looked like) toy soldiers, bits of wood, screws, and odd ends of junk.
He took it down one night, and it was a game that he'd invented!
He taught me the rules (many that we made up as we played) and it is really an interesting game.
Think: Risk, Chess, and Age of Empires combined.

 Here's the ariel view.
We figured out how to play as we went.
 With Hit the Deck cards,
 Play money,
Toy soldiers, and Legos Steve had designed a neat game!
He's so creative :)

Camping Part 2

Florida State Caverns...
While at Mariana, Steve showed me the caverns. We went with a group as a tour. The group were jerks, but the caverns were so amazing!
 "Right this way."
 'Christmas Tree'
 Do you see a hippo?
When the lights were turned out the darkness could be felt!
You could rent the cavern for a wedding!  This was the backdrop, it looks like a wedding cake.
This large cathedral was another beautiful formation.
It was a great camping trip, my first good experience, and we hope to camp a lot more often now!

Camping Part 1

Camping!!!
We went to Mariana, FL to go camping with Nate and Dani.
The campground was 2 hours away.

Me
His "pouty" face
Beautiful scenery
We were smushed into ONE car
All our stuff filled every crack of extra space
The guys set up our monster tent
I learned to cook over a campfire!
I made roasted chicken and veggies

My first fish!!!
I had to post this picture, Steve is fishing!
Nate's fish
Camping, Part 2 will come later.
It has to do with this.

Vacation 2011-12

After Christmas, Steve still had a week of vacation, we wanted to use that time to finish remodeling a small bedroom into a master bathroom.  Steve's brother, Nate, also had the week off and did most of the work.

Nate and his wife, Dani, came over nearly every night.  I got a lot of time with their son, Ethan.
Nate taught Ethan to climb the attic stairs :)
 James put in the shower...
Nate did the carpentry and drywalling...
Steve put in a light over the sink, and an exhaust fan...
Our wonderful, patient, hapily-married friend, Jimmy, moved the A/C vent to over the door...( :b For Sam!)
 Everybody contributed to the mess.
With the room nearly finished, and the week ending quickly, we decided that a quick camping trip would round our vacation off.
Where did we go?
You mean, With whom did we go?
Tell you later :)

Christmas!

We had a wonderful time this Christmas, starting with a trip to NC to spend a week with my family.
This is one of the only 3 pictures that I took on the trip!
We went to see the Mcadenville lights. They were amazing, to say the least.

We got home very late Friday night, and went right over to Mom and Dad Bryan's on Saturday morning.  We ate Christmas dinner with them, then opened gifts.

With no service Sunday morning, we slept in a bit, and then Nate and Dani came over with Ethan.  We had Christmas dinner together.  Dani decorated a beautiful table and the food was yummy!
Afterwards, Steve and I opened gifts together.
I hope your Christmas was every bit as wonderful as ours!
Merry Christmas!

Midnight, Sept 29, 2011

I have a lot of catching up to do!

When Steve and I went to Georgia for my Great-Grandfather's birthday celebration several of our in-laws thought we might forget how much they love us.
So they reminded us.
When we pulled into our driveway at midnight here's what we found.

 The porch
 Steve's car
All the doorways and windows were X-ed out
Oops!
The last thing we found was that Sara and Becky had stuffed handfuls of unshelled pecans under our sheets!!
These wooden "notes" were ALL OVER the house
Jason and James had used, I think it was, 1,200 feet of Caution tape on our house
Yes, we know you love us!
